Immortal's Holocaust: Part 9:
The Next Day- Joe's Safe Haven

"Joe, it's Mary. I'm ok and so is Cat and Methos. Meg on the other hand, has been kidnapped. Methos and Cat have a plan, will let you know more later." Joe heard the message again and couldn't believe it. He knew the two girls had run off to Paris to find Cat, and now it may cost Meg her life. He would never forgive himself if anything happened to any of them.

"Looks like I'll be heading off to Paris after all." Joe thought to himself. After Anne had told him of Duncan's death, Joe swore he wouldn't return to Paris. But now this was an emergency. He had to go to make sure everyone was protected.

The Barge

Cat woke up and for the first time in months, felt relaxed and peaceful. She had slept through the night without a nightmare, and she had Meaty to thank for that. Mary decided to sleep on the couch, so Methos wound up on the floor by the bed. He and Cat had stayed up most of the night talking and sorting through their emotions. When she finally fell asleep, he kissed her on the forehead and stayed awake watching her. What he really wanted to do, was to show her how much he loved her, but she didn't want to. "We've waited this long to tell each other our emotions, we can wait longer to act on them.

She walked into the kitchen and there he was cooking breakfast. "You know all me and Mary will want is Fruit Loops and a Coke." She said as she kissed him good morning.

"Good morning, and not today. I was fixing you something special, and I was hoping to have it done before you woke up."

Cat stole a piece of bacon off the plate and hopped onto the island. "Any news?" she asked taking a bite of the bacon.

Methos shook his head. "Joe called about an hour ago, he's on his way."

"Great." Mary said wiping the sleep out of her eyes and walking towards them. "He's going to kill me and Meg for this."

Methos looked at Cat and grinned. "I doubt it."

Cat punched him playfully in the arm and looked at him sternly. They had decided not to tell Mary unless it became absolutely necessary. "Where's the phone? I'm going to get the phone call with Tommy over with."

"It's in my bag." Methos said. "I hope you have his number."

"In my head. He told me it right before..." she stopped "Right after Meg and Mary left." She walked over to Methos's duffel bag, and removed his phone. She dialed Tommy's number and waited. "There's no answer." She said starting to hang up. "Hello? May I speak to Tommy? Tell him it's Cat." She covered the mouth piece "It's some girl." She said to Methos and Mary. "Tommy it's Cat... I'm fine... Listen, I need your help. Can you meet me somewhere in about an hour? No, he won't be there, and if you want we can meet on Holy Ground... ok... ok.... I'll see you then. Thanks." She hung up the phone and smiled. "He thinks you're after his head, so he won't meet with me unless it's on Holy Ground."

"It's a tempting offer, but I have the only head I ever want." He smiled as he kissed Cat on the lips.

"Will you two knock it off." Mary said. "You're like two sick puppies in heat."

"Just wait little Miss Innocent." Cat joked. "It won't be long till you find someone like this. And then you'll want to have kids and so on."

"I do not plan on getting married thank you very much, and I don't plan on having kids either. Sure mom did a great job of raising me alone, but with the way this world is now, I couldn't imagine bringing a new life into it."

"Uh huh, but I remember a certain crush you had on a certain Immortal that you would've done anything for."

"Richie was different."

Methos let out a loud laugh. "Is there anyone that has not had a crush on Richie?"

"I don't know, honey, why don't you tell me."

"Oh yes, I admit it, I'm madly in love with Richie, and I'm only using you to get to him." Methos laughed jokingly as Cat punched him in the arm again.

"Well, I'm going to take a shower. I'm suppose to meet Tommy in less than an hour. Who's coming with me?"

"Count me in!" he said with a grin and followed her.

"I meant to Notre Dame." Cat playfully pushed him away, although the idea of a nice warm shower with him, was something she wouldn't have minded.

Mary shook her head . "See what I mean. You two are pathetic."

Notre Dame- an hour later

Cat and Methos walked towards Notre Dame and got the buzz. They looked around, and saw Tommy standing at the doorway. He saw Methos and went inside. "I guess he's really afraid to see me." Methos said as he hugged Cat. "Are you sure you don't want me to go in there with you?"

"Yes, he may think something is up. This way I can tell him you were dropping me off on the way to run a few errands."

"I'll be back in an hour. If you're not here, and I don't feel you, I'm going after him, is that understood?"

"Yes, it's understood, and Meaty?"

"Yes?"

"I love you." She said as she kissed him.

Methos watched her walk in to the cathedral and wanted to follow her. Something told him this wasn't right, but he had promised her to give her an hour. He thought it would be the longest hour of his life.

"Cat, good to see you again." Tommy said as he embraced her. "I see you two worked things out. Either that or you're setting up a trap for my head." He said jokingly.

"I promised you, Tommy, no traps. Just us talking. I need your help."

"What is it? You know I would do anything for you."

"My friend Meg..."

"The young and boy crazy Watcher?" Cat nodded. "What about her?"

"She's been kidnapped, and I think she may be involved in the war."

"And how am I suppose to help?"

"Tell me more about the place you were at. Where was it? Is it the only one? Is that where all of us are sent before we are one of us?"

"Is Meg one of us?"

"Not yet, and I'd like to keep it that way. She was kidnapped a day before yesterday, and we haven't heard from her since." Cat lied. They had heard from the kidnappers, and time was running short.

"I don't remember much about it. But I do know it is the only one in these parts. I'm thinking it's in Lyon somewhere."

"Will they kill her? I need to know, I have to get her out of there."

"I don't know. I honestly don't. I wish I could help you more, but that's all I know for sure."

"Are you sure there's nothing else you can tell me? It's a matter of life or death."

"Cat, you know I would do anything to make you happy, but that's all I know. I'm sorry." He saw the pain in her eyes and kissed her.

"Don't!" Cat said pulling away. "I finally got things worked out with Methos, and I don't want to spoil it."

"I'm sorry. I hope you find the answers you're looking for. Good-bye my Caitlynn." He said as he stood and walked away.

Cat sat there for a moment and then felt the familiar buzz. She didn't look up.

"Cat?"

"I have a feeling we may have walked into a trap, and I think I just set Meg up as bait." Cat started to cry and Methos held her.

In a back room of the cathedral, Tommy looked at his partners. "We got them right where we want them. She'll be crawling to me for help again, I know it."

"What about the girl?" one of his thugs answered.

"I'm going to kill her. I won't take her head, just kill her. Something slow and painful. I want her to remember it always."
